The Work Transit Alliance
The Work Transit Alliance is a cross-regional collaboration between the Illawarra South Coast, Capital Region and Murray Riverina Local Jobs Programs.
Its purpose is to develop coordinated, scalable solutions to transport barriers that prevent people from accessing employment opportunities.
Transport remains one of the most persistent barriers to employment across regional Australia. When people cannot reliably reach work, training or education opportunities, local labour markets suffer and businesses struggle to find staff.
To better understand and address this challenge, the Illawarra South Coast, Capital Region and Murray Riverina Local Jobs Program teams established the Work Transit Alliance (WTA) and commissioned Sparrowly Group to undertake detailed research into transport-related barriers to employment across the three regions.
This webinar presents the key findings from that research and outlines practical recommendations to improve access to employment through better coordination, targeted initiatives and regional collaboration.
The session includes:
- Insights from Sparrowly Group on the research findings
- Identification of key transport-to-employment challenges across regional NSW
- Recommendations to address the research findings
- A roadmap for how the Work Transit Alliance will begin implementing solutions in 2026
